Ranchi YMCA was established in the year 1969 and serving the people of Ranchi through its multifarious programs. Ranchi YMCA acclaimed as unique YMCA due to its URBAN COMMUNITY SERVICE WORK in the slums of Ranchi. We are recognized as one of the
best YMCA in the world.
A branch of Ranchi YMCA was established in the year 1995 to serve the people of HEC township and nearby slum areas. By seeing the need for an English Medium school in HEC township, YMCA Ranchi introduced the YMCA PUblic School in the year 2001. It was a very small beginning.
We started the school with LKG and PREP with 7 students. But by the grace of God, support and guidance from Board of Directors, Committee of Management School Committee and support from the people of HEC township, the small seed planted in the year 2001 has grown into a very strong tree. With a small single no. 7, the strength of the school is almost touching 1000. Our efforts to provide a quality English medium teaching to the children of HEC township and nearby slum areas have succeeded and gained the confidence of the population of Dhurwa.
As a principal of the school, I tried to provide guidance and advises to the teachers in discharging their responsibilities and trying to uphold the objectives of the YMCA in general and YMCA PUblic School in particular. We are still a long way to go with the help of My colleagues, my seniors, the parents and the Advisory Committees.

Warm Greetings!!
The year 2019 has been a mile stone in the history of Ranchi YMCA as it observed it's 50th anniversary. Embarking this journey with a modest beginning in 1969 with a handful of enthusiastic young men with big dreams in a small rented office, wading ahead to bring change and uplift lives of weaker section in the society.
Principal, YMCA Public School, Dhurwa.
This roller coaster journey has brought Ranchi YMCA to its golden Jubilee, reaching out to the marginalized through its diversified services mainly in the field of education. It has Balwari (Kindergarten) Schools with mid day meals, free books and uniforms in it's 9 adopted slums. Further it has Higher Secondary English medium schools in the city and one another Rural development Centre we have in Maranghada (rural area). YMCA is rendering other services for youth development and women empowerment through vocational training centers, and time to time it organizes many skill development programs and conducts seminars. It has its own health care centre to provide services to less privileged people.
The Golden Jubilee celebration was the occasion to reunite with our pioneers, our Inland/ Overseas partners, our well wishers and supporters.
The endeavour for this noble cause with the theme embedded so close "WE ARE IN PEOPLE'S BUSINESS" was noticed and applauded by many.
Thus partners have shown their interest to work in collaboration on many projects such as DIZ, Germany on volunteer exchange programme, Indisches Forum Mahatma Gandhi' e.V., Germany and
"Die Kappe" e.V., Germany on kindergarten schools and Little Steps e.V. Germany on renovation of Johannessen Building where the work is in progress.
Though the year started with lots of positivity and enthusiasm but with pandemic outbreak of Covid-19 has left us on a discouraging note. The crisis has affected us but not stopped from serving the people.
We trust by the grace of God and support from you all we shall overcome this too.
Best Wishes,
Madhuri Bage,
President YMCA Ranchi.
I have the greatest honour to present 50th Annual Report of YMCA Ranchi before the august gathering. We have just completed the Golden Jubilee year. In these years YMCA Ranchi has made an all-round growth in terms of programmes, finance and capital assets. Its greatest achievements are its large membership, committed voluntary leadership, strong Board of Directors, efficient staff besides the human resources and the diversified programme activities which justifies its theme“We are in peoples’ business”. The year also witnessed the introduction of YMCA’s vision for the next 25 years i.e. to get NOC & CBSE Affiliation of YMCA Public School, to improve facilities of YMCA Public School at village centre Maranghada, to re-vive and promote inter-movement partnership & relationship, to strengthen youth members (Hi-Y & Uni-Y) in the YMCA and to complete the project of International Guest House above the Auditorium. The most innovative step adopted during the year, was the decision to write the 50 years Golden Jubilee history of YMCA Ranchi “Praising to God” and Dr. Franklin Baxla, an eminent historian of Jharkhand and former Professor & Head of the Department of history of St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi has accepted the responsibility to write it. Golden jubilee is a historic milestone for any organization, and it's also time to renew the mission and vision of an organisation. I feel honoured to be part of the historic event in the journey of YMCA Ranchi. This event brought together dignitaries from all over the world, our partners, former colleagues & office bearers, members, beneficiaries and well wishers of YMCA Ranchi to share the joy. It also gave us opportunity to revive our partnership with our former partners. I salute the leaders, professionals and our overseas partners who have contributed with faith in bringing this esteemed organisation to this stage of sustainability which is visible in the the form of service to the community with value based programmes and activites as high-lighted.
